Proposition 8

We were all very busy with Proposition 8. Calling, sign waving, walking precincts, talking to folks all the time. It was a lot of work...but we won!

Election Day

Many of us met and worked all day on Election Day. We made phone calls and encouraged folks to get out and vote.

The Chickens and the Pigs

Here we are again...only in a different area. This is another portion of the winding road, but only now we have the makings of a chicken pen....and pig pen.... hum....you will see ... all in due time.

Blocks, Blocks and More Blocks

I wanted to post all these blocks so you could see what it looks like when finished. It's definitely a process. :)

Back to the Back....Field That Is!

Well, it's obvious I haven't written in a long while...which only means I've been exceedingly busy! Here's the beginnings of the continuation of my little winding road, which has now become quite a long winding road ... and also one of the walls to the chicken run ... and if you will believe me ... my pig pen. Yep. But you won't even know it when it's done. It will be so beautiful...just wait and see.

The Office!

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Okay....so I haven't posted anything in a long time. Well, I went back to work part time....and how beautiful is the place where I work. Here is one photo of the inside of my building. There are plants everywhere....an escalator....glass, glass and more glass. It's a wonderful place to work, especially since I'm only there three days a week! :)

Yeah....the backyard is getting there. I need to find a "before" pic so you can really see the difference. Thank you Wayne for all your hard work...and Frank too! You guys are super!!!

Isn't this such a beautiful site....sitting smack dab in the middle of those beautiful mountains is this fun water park with all the exciting things for kids, old and young, to do. Thanks Am and Jarrod for inviting me to spend the week. It was so much fun.

Okay, Jarrod, I couldn't help but put this one here of you and Paul. You guys had so much fun that day!!!

Here we are, Taylor and I, having fun at the water park in Provo. All the water we seemed to get was from this fan! ;)

A FUN WEEK WITH MY GRANDSON PAUL

Artichoke Time!

I didn't think I'd get artichokes off these new plants, but each of them are producing many! So far we've harvested three types of squash, cucumbers, cilantro, potatoes (red and yellow), green beans, peas, and onions. The tomatoes are mostly still green but this morning we got our first little red one. Yeah! Soon we'll be having lots of salsa...yum, yum. :)

And Finally....The Completed Path!

Sorry about taking the picture in the evening. I spent a long time cleaning things off with the hose and by the time I got around to the picture, it was getting dark. But finally my little brick path is done. Now we can start the wall on the other side and all those beautiful little brick pillars! I'm telling you....it's never ending. :)

The Beginning of the Brick Path....

It all started here coming off the patio. It only took a few days and then finally the whole path was finished. Yeah!!!

The Second "Step" ....

The steps went in second....wow....they sure looked beautiful to me!

The Gazebo

Wow, it really made a difference to be enclosed. We're having so much fun eating breakfast on the patio. And yes, those are real flowers.

A little more progress on the garage...

Yeah...we've made at least a little more progress on the garage. I had to take the plans back in and have them revised, however...so it's back to waiting! That's okay...I'm back on the backyard again!

Fixing Up the Backyard....Still! :)

Here's the motley crew of fellows that are helping me to fix the backyard up. They've been lifesavers .... believe me! Thanks guys!

Happy Birthday To My Wonderful Sons!!

This is what they looked like 28 years ago. Wow! They've improved with age. Amber hasn't done so badly herself.

I just had to post this one. They're still in diapers.

It was so much fun having twins.

Remember When...?

These two are a pair!

I used to call them cowboys. I guess I can call them
California Highway Patrolmen now!

Never Ending Work...

Well, the front yard is fairly well done...so of course I need to start another project. Can't be without some kind of work, right?! Well, I've decided to add a huge garage with a little extra living space....you know....a living room, a couple of bedrooms, a bathroom and a nice food storage room for all those veggies. In addition, I'm making a winding little road to go into the garage from the rear of my home. Well....here's the beginnings of it all....(see pics below).

Here's a view of the upcoming road. Next you'll see the beginnings of the new garage!
We got gramma's tractor from Uncle Ty and Aunt Sandy and naturally Wayne put this humongus (however you spell it) umbrella over it since it's been so dang hot here! It's quite a blessing just watching Wayne and his very "unique" ways! :)

Okay, there's Herman on the right. He and Mario dug the footing out for the garage. Next will be Wayne jackhammering out the cement he's standing on!!! Ugh!

Wow.....that's hard work!!!

First Harvest of the Year!

Yep....I can't believe it. This was my first harvest this year. I even grew potatoes....wow. And the green beans were the absolute best. Yum, yum. Now if my children were closer, I'd be shipping the veggies over to them!

Brick Walls and Gardens...

The other end of the garden....the squash and
the citrus trees.....wow are they growing fast!

My Garden Is Growing....Yeah!!!!

Slow but sure..that's been the progress on getting my garden area ready. I had "Wayno" build three raised beds out of block and top them with brick. I planted the tomatoes and green beans first, but the thing that grew fastest (at least at first) was the old potatoes I had in my closet....you know the kind....with all the roots sticking out of them?!

Having Fun with Some Single Friends

Mt. Timpanogas Temple Wedding

This is a picture of my niece and her husband Andre Kradolfer. They were married in the Mount Timpanogas Temple in American Fork, Utah. They are such a beautiful couple!

Bye Bye Grandma!!

Here we are.....my daughter's children and me. I'm holding our newest addition, Taylor McKay, named after his two great grandfathers. Kayleigh and Alyssa are on each side of me and Paul is at our feet. What a wonderful time I had with my grandchildren for three weeks.
